Happy 2010!
The winter weather is amongst us, but that doesn't mean you have to tone down on fashion! Winter 2010 is all about 80s retro disco style full of sequin and glitter. Too much for you? Opt for the classic style padded shoulders or a chain bag. Thigh high boots with dramatic heels are all the rage, but only for the truly balanced fashionista!
As we are thawing out, the local fashion scene is taking a brief hiatus in some areas, but stay tuned for more fashion related events in Cleveland !
druChristine Couture + The Intergenerational School
The designer goes 'green'.
 It's all about being chic AND eco-friendly as Drue lends her hand to 7th and 8th grade students at The Intergenerational School to create apparel made of 100% NEWSPAPER!
The students were inspired by a recent 'Project Runway' challenge as they were able to design and produce everything from dresses to backpacks. The results were truly inspiring!

Yes Cleveland ! There is a Fashion Institute!
Make 2010 the year true fashion lovers link up with The Cleveland Fashion Institute. The organization, (originally founded in 1938) was formed to meet the needs of the Cleveland garment industry. Today, CFI is a professional organization that represents the "fashion community" of artists, designers, educators, retailers, stylists, fashion lovers, and arts organizations.
The Cleveland Fashion Institute is always looking for new members and volunteers.
