FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LOCAL FASHION DESIGNER EXPANDS LOCATION TO TEACH SEWING SKILLS, WELCOME SEWING ENTHUSIASTS, UNITE THE CREATIVE COMMUNITY.
The studio expansion became a necessity to accommodate the recent interest in sewing during the pandemic.
Cleveland, Ohio (November 8th) - Dru Christine Fabrics and Design will expand their current studio space to include DC Creative Suite, opening on November 27, 2021. DC Creative Suites will be located next to the designer’s current location at Lake Affect Studios (1615 East 25th Street, Cleveland, Ohio). The expansion will include a maker space for sewists along with a retail selection of rare fabrics, vintage textiles and sewing supplies.
“There were so many people who discovered sewing while making masks last year. Our business noticed a wave of sewists who fell in love with the art and wanted to improve their skills. We saw our sewing class numbers and fabric sales increase. We realized the need to offer sewing classes for kids and advanced sewers, plus sell a wider variety of fabrics and sewing notions,” said Dru Thompson, Designer and Owner of Dru Christine Fabrics & Design. “There is a need to unite sewists from our area to jumpstart a sewing community within our city.”
DC Creative Suite will also be available for Open Sew sessions. The space will house sewing machines, sergers and other equipment while welcoming members of the sewing community to work on projects independently. Open Sew is ideal for those who need more space to complete their projects or desire to be in a creative environment.
“There are so many talented people who sew within our city,” says Thompson. “The idea of DC Creative Suite is a great opportunity to embrace them all”.
